I started going thin at 18. I didn't do a whole lot of research into it at the time, and depended on products that I saw advertisements for, like Avacor. I knew about Propecia but didn't think I would need something like a prescription drug to help me.

I discovered minox in my early 20's. By that time my crown and back 1/3 of the top of my scalp were starting to get worse. It has since slowed and leveled out. Within the past year or so I was ordering generic propecia from websites, stuff I couldn't really verify was real, because my insurance didn't cover Propecia. But recently I found they do cover Proscar, so I have just started taking 1.25mg/day of the prescribed generic version within the last 2 months.

I never considered a hair transplant until around early 2006, after seeing an MHR commercial on TV and ordering their info packet. Fortunately my intrigue after that led to researching on the web, and my subsequent discovery of the awesome HLH website saved me from making a big mistake in my choice of doctor.

I went under the knife with Dr. Wong of H&W on December 5th, 2006. The initial online consult said 3500 to 4000 grafts, but I ended up getting 4465 total, mostly planted into the back half of the top of my head and the top of crown. Depending on the outcome of this HT, I will probably go for another in a few years to bring the front up to speed. I've no grandiose expectations of the final results, but I can't, at the very least, wait to have more than what I've got now.

If you're interested in seeing a video of my strip surgery performed by Dr. Wong, you can private message me for the links. I have two versions:

**Full Version - 27 minutes long (152 MB)
**Shortened Version - 18 minutes long (53 MB)

Unfortunately we didn't get the entire thing, but there's more than enough, trust me. :)
